Michael B. Tew
Mr. Tew, founded S J & L, Inc. in 1978 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer and President. A native of Mobile, Alabama, Mr. Tew worked in the family plumbing business until starting S J & L at the age of 25. Over the past thirty three (33) years, Mr. Tew has experienced and performed every facet of the business as he has grown it from a small start-up company to it’s present day size employing over 40 employee’s and performing upwards of $12MM per year in work. Mike remains very active in the daily operations of the firm.
Jeffrey (Jeff) Rode
Mr. Rode, Vice President of Construction and Operations is 44 years of age and resides in Mobile, Alabama. A fourth generation native of Florida, Mr. Rode attended Auburn University for undergraduate studies and Broward Community College for continuing education while building utility construction experience in Florida. With over twenty five (25) years of field construction, estimating, project management and company management experience, Jeff strengthens S J & L, Inc. with proven personnel, estimating, accounting and management skills. Mr. Rode has estimated and managed utility, roadway and site development projects ranging up to $12MM and subdivision projects up to $7.2MM.
Louise S. Holman
Mrs. Holman, Secretary / Treasurer of S J & L has been with the firm since 1999 and also serves as our Office Manger. A native of Mobile, Alabama, Louise worked in the family homebuilding business for twenty-five years before going to work for an independent insurance agency. During her time with S J & L, Louise has worked her way up through our payables, receivables and payroll positions before being appointed to her current position.
Wesley (Wes) Williams
Mr. Williams, General Superintendent, has over fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in earthwork, roadway, highway and utility construction on projects ranging in size up to $10MM. A valuable member of S J & L since his high school graduation, Mr. Williams has gradually worked his way up through the company, starting off as a laborer. Before being promoted to General Superintendent, Wes was in charge of the Austal USA project, a $10MM site work project, the largest completed to date by S J & L.
